Belated New year post

Actually, i realise i've not made any blog posts about the transition from 2007 to 2008.

I must really say that 2007 has been a great year for me, of course, there are the ups and downs of it too.

The passing of relatives which evoked painful memories for my family, the release of my A level results, appplication to university and not being able to get into my dream course initially, working at secret recipe, working at NJ, going hong kong once again, learning swimming and of course, i made many many wonderful new friends and found new friends within my old friends too.

I suppose, the year has really passed by so quickly that it's a little scary, but i do agree that it has been one of the most relaxed times i've ever had for such a long time. No stress or anything.

Working in NJ has been a pleasure and i am now more appreciative of my teachers, i also made even better friends with hsiu tzu and got to know miss yeo, miss lim, miss tay and many more teachers and make good friends with them. Life is really great in NJ. It's one of the most stress-free times i've ever had.

Talking about these, memories of NJ times do really keep flashing back in my mind and somehow, i realise how much i miss my life and friends back there. Life is stressful, but definitely fun.

Got back my A level results and am kinda glad of what i've obtained, it was relief to know that my hard work has paid off, the tears, the sleepless nights, the headaches, worries etc seem to be worth it after all.

Applied for UNI, and went for internship etc. It was quite a busy period for me, but i enjoyed myself a lot. The impact when i got to know i didn't get into dentistry is something i will never forget, i didn't know that it meant so much until i lost it. It was just.. terrible and absolutely depressing. Definitely not something which i can describe with words. It's not as if i didn't prepare myself for it. I WORKED for it, went for internships no matter how tired i was, moulding all those teeth, carving, bending wires till 12 am kinda thing, and trying to prep myself up for the interview etc. I really worked for it. And i worked hard.

Fate really has it's way of making people come together and make people know what goals they have in their life. I am thankful that i found mine at 19. To think about it, i was just beginning to come out of the " WHY DIDN'T I GET IN?!!!" mode and was actually beginning to enjoy life as a science students with my newly made friends when the magical call came. It was like a god-send thing. Couldn't believe myself at all to know that i actually got in.

But it was then i realise the importance of friends. I should say that the people i met in SOW are simply great. if not for them, i bet life would have been so much harder now for me. And i always look forward to going out with them etc. It always makes me feel better to know that i have friends in science when i'm having a hard time with my current faculty.

The occasional meet ups with SOW, s19 members and other friends do brighten my day. It's like, how should i put it... hmmm..

After a long day in school and a long week ahead of me, i just feel drained sometimes, but it't these meetups that inject new energy into me, i always enjoy my lunch with them and i very much would like to have longer lunch breaks so we can chat more. Sometimes i feel that my schedule is so packed and what not, that i do fear that i lose contact with my friends, since we don't meet up as often as before, esp the newly acquinted ones, my old friends are just as important too.

I don't want to lose them.

Trust me, it REALLY makes things more comforting to me. Some things are better felt than said. Rag was a success, and the team spirit i saw was OOOoohh.

The life in dentistry hasn't been really smooth flowing i suppose, as expected, i guess it's full of politics perhaps, lucky thing is that it is still not as bad now. I just hope that things stay the way it is or improve and not make a turn for the worse. I mean, let's all make 4 year a smooth flowing one. Somehow, when i look at the photos they take, i seriously wonder why am i not having as much fun as them? Why am i not part of the whole thing, just like how i was in jc?
Perhaps, i just don't survive well in a cliquish environment. Perhaps, i'll just envy occasionally and get on with life.

i do have my own life too.

My cousin got married at the end of the year, and i am simply so happy for her. It was quite fun and touching as we looked through the videos and photos that we took. I'm thankful that she found her happiness and i am even happier to be able to meet up with them ever so often. They really dote on me and i am really really really really thankful for that.

I became closer to my parents as well, as i talk more to my mother as compared to JC periods where i will be busy with school stuff and mugging. These chats have enriched my life and changed my perspective of the world etc. These are lessons that i will never learn elsewhere and i am thankful that i have such wonderful parents.

Hong kong trip was great to, ate a lot and shopped a hell lot, sad thing is that i have not been able to remove the additional kilos i gained from that. Jia lat.

Oh, and i learn how to swim. I mean FINALLY!!

All in all,

2007 has been a wonderful and absolutely great year to have.

Family, friends, studies and career.

I thank God for giving what i have now and i don't ask for more.

i only hope that 2008 will be a great year too.
